Biography and CV
Andrew Heffernan holds a PhD from the University in Ottawa in political studies with specializations in International Relations and comparative politics. He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses related to International Relations, International Political Economy, global environmental governance, climate change politics, African politics, and the politics of food at both the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. His research interests include climate disinformation, African politics, global environmental governance, community-based conservation and the politics of food.
Andrew has published a monograph with Palgrave Macmillan, over a dozen peer reviewed articles, as well as a wide variety of online and public facing publications and commentary. He has presented at numerous conferences including the annual conventions for the International Studies Association and the African Studies Association. Two of his major projects have included work on Community-Based Natural Resource Management in Namibia, as well as the future of sustainable protein and the planet. He currently has several ongoing research projects interrogating climate disinformation and policy approaches for addressing challenges associated with this complex phenomenon.
